Can Savage Garden's songs "Crash and Burn" and "Hold Me" be considered as power ballads?

Can you please explain why?

Can Savage Garden's songs "Crash and Burn" and "Hold Me" be considered as power ballads?
I would most agree. Not only this, Affirmation is also very powerful ballads if you pay attention to the lyrics. Every sentence is quite true in today's society. I really admire their songs but sadly, they aren't a team anymore...
Reply:Yes! No!
Reply:Well, this was extracted from wikipedia:

"Power ballad is a song style frequently included on arena rock, hard rock and heavy metal albums in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s; the style has evolved into more modern forms since.

Power ballads are usually not so much ballads as love songs. They often explore sentimental themes such as yearning and need, love and loss. They are usually of confessional nature and differ from metal's more lyrical themes of hedonism, violence, or the occult. Record companies probably wanted a more accessible and appealing name than metal love songs. Power ballads were immediately marketable to the public and ready for radio airplay."

So, I think both contains those characteristics. I hope this can help you. And yes, Savage Garden split was very painfully, but Darren has made such a wonderful job in solitary...Good for him!!
Reply:I don't know but I *LOVE* them!!
