It's a song about a couple who have abusive fights and she wonders how she is still caught up and sticking around. She sneaks away with the kids to make her feel like she has the nerves to leave him but knows that she'll be back home tonight to fix everything up all over again.





At least that's how I read it.

its the story of a woman in an abusive relationship, gets out of hand one night, she takes the kids and makes her bid for freedom, only in doin so realises that it is not that easy, no money etc and has to go home again.

Reply:I agree with the first two answers. The message behind it, is that life if not easy, so be careful of the roads you take. If you choose a dead end, you can't just turn around and go back.
