what do you suppose caused them to break up??...it was such a terrible thing...they are such an amazing duo...i absolutely adore them...and although Darren Hayes does a splendid job on his own...i still wish i could look and see 'Savage Garden' on the album...it means a lot more to me...will i ever be able to do this again?...or are they going to stay the way they are?
Savage Garden fans...?
I think it was the fact that Daniel hated the spotlight and wanted to work more in the background, leaving Darren to do all the publicity (which I know Darren resented). Also, I think they wanted to go in different directions, both personally and musically - Darren loves his songwriting and Daniel loves producing.
ALSO, just the whole overwhelming pressure of international fame. It's a hard thing to perpetuate for long periods, ask anyone...
Reply:The Main reason Savage Garden split up is because, Daniel Jones lives in Sydney, Australia (and won't move), and Darren Hayes lives with his boyfriend in LA (and won't move either), basically, they were too far away from each other for it to work properly.
Shame really, Savage Garden were awesome in their time!!!
Reply:What is the deal with Savage Garden all of a sudden? I noticed an abundance of Savage Garden questions on here recently. I'm not hating on them, I actually enjoyed their 2 albums but I don't understand the sudden interest in a pop duo that have been broken up for almost a decade.
Oh and I've heard 2 rumours that: 1) Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones split over creative differences and that: 2) Daniel Jones just got tired of the spotlight and the touring and just wanted a normal life again. Hope that answers your question.
Reply:The two responses are the same that I've heard of. I'm bad with names so I don't know which one, but one of them wanted to work more on their family life, etc.
