As far as my eyes can see

There are shadows approaching me

And to those I left behind

I wanted you to know

You've always shared my deepest thoughts

You follow where I go

And oh... when I'm old and wise

Bitter words mean little to me

Autumn winds will blow right through me

And someday in the mist of time

When they asked me if I knew you

I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine

And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes

Oh when I'm old and wise

As far as my eyes can see

There are shadows surrounding me

And to those I leave behind

I want you all to know

You've always shared my darkest hours

I'll miss you when I go

And oh... when I'm old and wise

Heavy words that tossed and blew me

Like autumn winds that will blow right through me

And someday in the mist of time

When they ask you if you knew me

Remember that you were a frined of mine

As the final curtain falls before my eyes

Oh when I'm old and wise

Could someone recommend some Australian artists?

I'm looking for some new music and wondered if anyone could recommend some Australian artists? I'm familiar with the work of Savage Garden, Kylie Minogue, Crowded House, Olivia Newton-John, Jet, Silverchair, Natalie Imbruglia, and the Little River Band, but I'd like to know what some of the other popular bands and singers are.

Could someone recommend some Australian artists?

Did you stop being a Darren Hayes fan after you found out he was gay?

Darren Hayes use to be in a band called Savage Garden.

I only became a fan of him last year. This was before I knew he was gay, I only found out after I did research on him. I like his music and personality.

But for those who were Darren fans, did you stop being a fan because of his sexuality?

Did you stop being a Darren Hayes fan after you found out he was gay?
Absolutely not. His music now is just as good as when he was "straight", so I don't see why it would matter. If you like his music, then listen to it. It's that simple.
Reply:You mean you couldn't tell he was gay from his music?

4.

I need help deciding my song for my wedding?
Have you asked your fiance'? I would chose a song that the words mean something to both of you. As this is a special day for both of you. One you both will always remember.

Ex. I used Truly madly deeply as I am from the ocean and my husband lives in a mountain area. Therefore the words in the song meant a lot to both of us.

I wish you all the best and happiness in your lives together.
Reply:Out of those songs, #1. I guess you can't go wrong with a list that's been played at a hundred million weddings.
Reply:Are you sure that you want to use semi-popular pop songs? Do you want to be showing your kids your wedding video one day and have Jessica Simpson blaring through out it? I really hope not.
Reply:I like Edwin McCain..we chose Couldn't Love you more by him for our first dance song. I wanted something that everyone else didn't have!
Reply:number one
Reply:I'd say number four--it's unique and I don't think many people use that song, but I could be wrong.

And the singer of number one is Edwin McCain.
Reply:from this moment on - shania twain is being beaten to death at weddings Personally I would go with truly madly deeply by savage garden, but it reallys isn't a slow sancing song. Have you thought of Kenny chesney You and Me. Good luck and congrats

Reply:Is there a song that the 2 of you first slow danced to? Or a song that describes your feelings about each other? Otherwise, go with 3.
Reply:WELL DEFFINATLY USE "I'LL BE" BY EDWAIN MCCLAIN. VERY ROMANTIC AND EXPLAINS EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD FEEL ABOUT YOUR NEW SPOUSE.....TAKE MY BREATH AWAY IS NICE TOO BUT IF U GO WITH THAT USE THE ORINGINAL VERSION NOT JESSICA SIMPSONS

Does anybody know the name of that karaoke machine that came out in 2000, I think, and it has songs from britney spears, christinia aguilera, backstreet boys, smash mouth, and savage garden. It's purple, has a disco ball in the center, and there is two tapes, A and B, and two tape players on the machine that says A and B, for those tapes. They also released two more CDs for that karaoke machine in 2001. I can't find it, HELP!!!!

How can I protect my plants and herbs from slugs and other pests?

I'm trying to be green fingered in the garden and reverse my history of wilting everything I try to grow.. but how can I protect my plants without using nasty chemicals? Especially for my herb pots - I don't want to be putting anything nasty on them when I plant to eat them. Last year my poor mint plants were savaged by slugs. This year I'm growing sage, mint, thyme, rosemary and basil and lots of lavendar.

How can I protect my plants and herbs from slugs and other pests?
egg shells

its as simple as that

i grow herbs, small amounts of vegetables and strawberries etc

just outside the kitchen door i keep a wee pail and everytime i use eggs i rinse the shells and pop them in there

when i have a need, i take them, crush them in he pail and sprinkle around the pots and earth,

i use no chemicals at all, ever, egg shells create a diatomaceous barrier, lime also works but not so good for some plants, grow rosemary and lavender abundantly also helps, slugs hate the smell of both and wont venture near where its grown, i do grow both but stick with my trusty egg shells hasnt failed me yet, ask a few neighbours or friends to keep them too to get you started, few people have a use for them anyways, and if you have an abundance thrown them in the pot when re planting, does the soil good too
Reply:I found slugs love herbs - and tomatoes (the swines!!).

In DIY and garden centres you can buy copper sticky-backed tape. It's about £5 for a biggish roll. I bought this and wrapped it round the pots and it did the trick - slugs get an electric shock when they move across the copper.

You can also lay salt circles round pots but of course, this only works in dry weather.

You can also buy 'pot feet' which raise pots off the ground a little but slugs are capable of stretching so you'll still need copper tape.

Another thing I found in Homebase was woven fabric and copper discs - a bit like weed control fabric. You can trim to size and place this over the dirt in the plant pot. Stops the slugs and stops the weeds too.

Mint is super tough and even if the slugs had a good ol' munch, it'll grow back again!
Reply:I have know many gardeners that have tried to use natural means of protecting against pests but they are never full-proof and they always revert back to chemicals. I use slug pellets and they do the job perfect. Just make sure you remove any dead slugs so the birds dont eat them.
Reply:a good tip is plant marrygolds in between your plants the other thing tuycan do is get small lids and fill them with beer they hate it or slug pellets but i dont like them.
Reply:Slugs like beer apparently!
Reply:My granda used put salt down.
Reply:i know growing castor beans in your garden will detour moles.. not sure about slugs tho
Reply:I agree with Fi, but I'm just addding that egg shells are also great for keeping rodents out, (another pest). they can't stand the feel of the broken egg shells on their feet.
Reply:There are 3 ways to stop slugs and snails, first is the basic snail/slug pellits. work but are not that good because birde will sometimes eat the dead slugs/snails and get sick them selfs.

Second, beer traps. Yeast attracts them and when they fall in the traps they can not excape and will drown.

Biological control.

use nematodes 100% safe around children, pets and other wildlife.

Its what i use ^^
Reply:Before you start with the beer traps remember the hedgehogs get pissed on the slugs and can't roll up to protect themselves from dogs etc.

Hanging baskets?

Try the CAT link:
Reply:I cut plastic cola bottles in half and then cut a slit down one side, wrap them around the base of my plants and pressed into the ground. This has worked well on my promroses and hollyhocks which the slugs usually massacre

Do you think Randy "Macho Man" Savage was the best IC champion in the WWE?

Before Randy Savage became the IC champ, previous holders of that belt were guys who used a "no nonsense gimmick". No lights, no flashy clothing, not much of a gimmick if any at all. Before Savage there was Tito Santana, sound technical wrestler, not much of a gimmick. Before that you had Greg Valentine, very sound technical wrestler, but not much of a gimmick. Before him you had Santana again. And before that you had Muraco, big Hawaiian, not much of a gimmick.

Go back any further than that and it would probably be hard to find any televised matches on account of wrestling not having hit the scene till later.

Let me be clear on this: obviously if one were determined enough, you could go back and find matches of former IC greats such as Pat Patterson, or Pedro Morales. But those men were IC champs before a rather important period of wrestling history, some might even say it was the most significant one of all: the Hogan Era.

The claim that Hulk Hogan put wrestling on the map, merits some consideration at the very least. Perhaps the most correct spin would be to say that Hulk Hogan put wrestling on millions of TV sets in America during the 80's. Having said that, lets remember the 80's, Hulk Hogan, for all his popularity, wrestled very discreetly on TV. In terms of matches, he limited himself to Saturday Night's Main Events. Otherwise, he would cut a promo or two leading up to series of house shows against a particular opponent. Or smaller promos about Hulkamania running wild, and prayers, and vitamins and all that.

In any case, the wrestling shows at the time: Challenge, Superstars, etc...relied on other superstars such as Mr. Wonderful, the British Bulldogs, George the animal Steele, etc., to entertain TV fans. Now with Hogan NEVER defending the title on a TV show (note that these shows were taped), the IC belt was the main singles title that fans could follow.

Now Savage's gimmick wasn't strong by today's standards, but the single fact that he came out to that glorious theme song, accompanied by Elizabeth in her shiny dresses, made him stand out amongst the other superstars. Add to that the IC title and it all looked amazing, a complete package.

Back in those days, the IC champions were lighter, more technical wrestlers than the McMahon-beasts who challenged for the World Title. Savage fought lighter men like Tito Santana, Ricky Steamboat, The Dynamite Kid, etc., in matches that were entertaining enough to top just about every TV show that was shown.

With Randy Savage, the IC title gained an importance all on its own, while still operating directly under the shadow the Hulkamania. Sure everyone knew that WWF meant Hulk Hogan, but just about every wrestling fan knew who Randy Savage was as well. "Macho Man" was becoming a household name.

I remember the very first time I went to see a live wrestling show at Madison Square Garden. The opening match starred Nick Kininski. The Main Event was Randy Savage vs Pedro Morales. When that song started to play...the fans would go wild. Hogan may have ruled the heavyweight scene but Macho was the king of mid-carders.

Macho Man's impact in the IC title scene would culminate at Wrestlemania III when in front of 97,000 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome, MI, would drop the title to Ricky Steamboat in match considered by many to be the best match of the night...even though it was an under-card for what some call the greatest main event of all time, Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant for the World Title.

I remember the wrestling magazines from the day, PWI, AllStars, etc., all putting over the Savage-Steamboat match, claiming it was an amazing technical match that went back and forth from the very beginning. Not too long after the event, I would end up renting up the WMIII tape and confirm such claims. Truly a joy to watch for fans of vintage Savage-Steamboat. It was no mere coincidence that Savage was given the heavyweight strap later on, and he would go on to become one of the WWF's greatest stars of all time.

After Savage's IC title reign, other wrestlers with stronger gimmicks would lay their hands on the title, taking the prestigious title one step higher each time.

But it took one man to get World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Title off the ground and onto the map.

And not just any man.

A Macho Man.

Ooh Yeah!

Do you think Randy "Macho Man" Savage was the best IC champion in the WWE?
possibly. but i will go for jericho"""

Which of these 2 songs should be the first dance?

areosmith..dont want to miss a thing or savage garden truely, madly, deeply? whichever song we dont dance to im gonna sing on kareoke!

Which of these 2 songs should be the first dance?
It's a really personal thing so you should choose. Have you seen the 'first dances' on Youtube? Some really great ones on there.
Reply:areosmith is used quite a lot at weddings and is becoming quite cheesy!!

savage garden has nice words to it!!
Reply:Marriage is and should be a very personal and intimate occassion between a man and a woman who are truly devoted to each other, I therefore believe that the choice of song should be yours and yours only not the choice of us lot on Yahoo answers. Have a great marriage.
Reply:Neither, both are in the top 10 most requested songs for the first dance, why don't you choose something that not everyone else has had. People will be listening to it and saying "oh, so and so also had that song". Choose something more original and meaningful to you two as a couple, rather then something most couples pick.

The top 10 (and so ones to avoid) are:

Aerosmith - Don't Wanna Miss A Thing

Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You)

Lonestar - Amazed

Shania Twain - You're Still The One

Shania Twain - From This Moment

Van Morrison - Have I Told You Lately

James Blunt - You're Beautiful

Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply

Robbie Williams - Angels

Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

What ringer should I use for when my husband calls?

I love all kinds of music and I am trying to find something fitting to use as a ringer for when my husband calls but I am drawing blanks left and right.

Here are a few types of music that are options for the ringer:

Country,

Rap,

Techno,

Alternative,

R%26amp;B,

Hip Hop,

Oldies

Rock (not heavy metel),

Christian

(Told you I'm versitile!)

I really wanted Aerosmiths "Don't wanna miss a thing" But my sprint phone doesn't give that as an option and call me cheap but I am not going to pay $10 a month to some svc for ringers. I only need 2 or 3 total for my phone, the rest can be generics.

My last cell phone ringer was "truely madly deaply" by Savage Garden... I loved it but everyone I know thought it was pretty gay,lol (including my husband) so I'd like to upgrade my ringer.

Look forward to reading your suggestions. The one I pic will be considered the best answer. If you want to put a list that's good too. No more then 10 suggestions per person, please :)

What ringer should I use for when my husband calls?
"Sexy ************", by Prince. If you think he's sexy anyway! ;)
Reply:The theme song from smallville.....

"SOMEBODY SAVE MEEEEEEE..."

Your choice of a song to dance to at your wedding?

I like Black Sabbath, but the woman like "Savage Garden"

"Ttruly, Madly, Deeply" or some shiite like that.

Your choice of a song to dance to at your wedding?
When will men understand about weddings???

Ok, I will be blunt... Black Sabbath does not equal wedding music.. Calling something your fiancee really likes shite is a good way to find yourself alone again..

You job in wedding planning is simple you agree to what she wants she already knows what she wants she has been planning this event since she was 5 and her Barbi married Ken before she threw him under the bed (Ken gets boring fast he doesn't have enough accessories) ...

If she asks for your oppinion (she will) you say "I am not sure what do you think hunny?" (or variations thereof) She really doesn't want your oppinion she just wants to make sure you are paying attention... (remember to use variations of your phrase in random order and have at least 6 or she will know you are not paying attention).

Now we come to the wedding day.

Your job at the wedding/reception is very simple and easy, you show up on time dressed/ groomed appropriately (this is very easy she picked out your clothes for you) you are the guy who stands at the front of the aisle and says "I do" at the appropriate moment (this is a no brainer, there is even an official provided to give you, your que) You are then the one who stands with her smiling lovingly and getting 100's of pictures taken doing various things (cutting the cake, standing in a recieving line, ect)... At some point you will get some booze (champagne) for doing your part so well up to that point.

Then you dance and mingle with guests a bit.. (This is the smoozing portion of the reception, do it well these people brought money and gifts) more dancing and booze ( for playing your part well)... At some point you may get to reach up under your brides dress and retrieve a garter you then get to fling that garter at your friends (See there are good parts for you... even some gloating cause your friends who get the garter flung at them are single and likely sleeping alone that night) maybe more booze (You have been such a good participant).

At the end of the reception you get to run hand and hand out of the venue while people throw stuff at you and cheer (NO!!! you are not allowed to catch it and throw it back)... Then it's off to the honeymoon where you get to sleep with your bride (this is especially good if you played your part at the wedding/reception very well and especially bad if you didn't play your part well)...

Now that you know the secret enjoy, your dance to "Savage Garden-- Truly, Madly, Deeply" (You get booze and a bed partner if you play your part well)
Reply:We are having an "Old Hollywood" themed wedding, so our first dance is to, "As Time Goes By" from the movie "Casablanca."
Reply:I agree with Diane.
Reply:it shouldnt be her decision its should be both if it was up to me i would be monica for u i will
Reply:We danced to "It's Your Love" by Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill.

And for the second one with our daughter, the wedding party danced too, we had "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith.
Reply:Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
Reply:This I Swear, Nick Lachey..
Reply:Ya gotta go much softer than Black Sabbath. Try to choose one together. If you need suggestions, my husband and I danced to "From This Moment On" on our wedding day, which, by the way, occured a day after a huge snowstorm. I would never have picked something as outrageous as Billy Idol's "White Wedding." Try some online resources like theknot.com that might help.
Reply:We used Sting featuring Mary J. Blige "Whenever I say your name".

BOB
Reply:the way you look tonight by tony bennett...but looking at your list i think you're in your 20's so you probably won't appreciate this much. maybe you can try to watch my bestfriend's wedding..this julia's and dermot theme song..here's the lyrics:

Someday when I'm awfully low

When the world is cold

I will feel a glow

Just thinking of you

And the way you look tonight

O but you're lovely

With your smile so warm

And your cheeks so soft

There is nothing for me to love you

Just the way you look tonight

With each word, your tenderness grows

Tearing my fear apart

And that laugh that wrinkles your nose

Touches my foolish heart

Lovely never never change

Keep that breathless change

Won't you please arrange it

Cause I, I love you

Just the way you look tonight

Just the way you look tonight

hope this helps! =)

Reply:Sorry, but I think a lot of the music out today sucks. I prefer the older stuff, whether it be classic rock (like Zeppelin or the Stones), Motown (Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder) or even 80's (The Police, Genesis). I do like a few though... John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab for Cutie... and I love the most recent Amy Winehouse CD, probably because it sounds like it was recorded in 1965.

What lyrics (to a song) mean the most to you and why?

Mine would be Trully, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden because the romantic lyrics send me chills.

What lyrics (to a song) mean the most to you and why?
Rock n' Roll Suicide by David Bowie it's the whole song, it's anti-suicide but this one gives me chills, good to know someone cares and is there.

"Oh no love! you're not alone

You're watching yourself but you're too unfair

You got your head all tangled up but if I could only make you care

Oh no love! you're not alone

No matter what or who you've been

No matter when or where you've seen

All the knives seem to lacerate your brain

I've had my share, I'll help you with the pain

You're not alone"
Reply:It's got me through a lot of hard times. I also use to play %26amp; sing it to people that were on the verge of suicide. Always help make them feel needed.

Reply:I have a few songs that mean alot to me for different reasons. But here are a few:

Imagine, by John Lennon

Here I Go Again by Whitesnake...it was my life story for quite awhile.

Save All Your Love by Great White

Unchained Melody....gets me every time
Reply:Jo Dee Messina's first album, especially "Bye Bye Love". Those lyrics gave me the courage to leave an abusive husband. Now when I hear it, I just smile and know those words led me through that hard decision.
Reply:Imagine by John Lennon
Reply:Hurt by Christina Aguilera
Reply:Greenday's "Good Riddance" or Blink 182 "Staying Together for the Kids"

Both have lyrics that I can identify with.
Reply:Mama just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead, mama, life had just begun, and now I've gone and blown it all away.,

Mama, didn't mean to make you cry, if I'm not back again this time tomorrow carry on, carry on. Cause nothing really matters.

Mama, I don't want to die, I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all. Carry , carry on cause nothing really matters.
Reply:Mine would be "The Reason" by Hoobastank. Everytime I hear it I begin to think about everything bad I've done to someone and how that song expresses exactly what I wanted to say but couldn't. It also helps me forgive people easier and really take the time to see that they are sorry instead of just brushing them off. When I watch the music video I cry just because I think about how many times someone wanted to say sorry but didn't get the chance.
Reply:hero by enrique........dat song gives me the goosebumps even today!!
Reply:Ordinary People by John Legend....its totally describes a complicated relationship with an ex....it still makes me cry
Reply:"i'm moving on" -rascal flatts

the song was popular when i was finishing up my divorce and the words seemed fitting
Reply:"Try to be Happy" by Melissa Manchester.
Reply:the end of the line by the Allman brothers, evey word comes from the old days ♫

Where does the phrase "truly, madly, deeply" originally come from?

Where does the phrase "truly, madly, deeply" originally come from?

It's not from the Cascada/Savage Garden song because several years earlier there was a movie with the same name starring Alan Rickman.

More than likely the title came from somewhere earlier. I read somewhere that it might be a poem or by a famous poet...

If you could be specific as to exactly where the phrase comes from, what poem or play or story, etc...

Where does the phrase "truly, madly, deeply" originally come from?
According to Wiki:

The title comes from a verbal word game played by the main characters in which they challenge each other to take turns repeating and adding to a series of adverbs describing how much they love each other.

What is the name of the song called "something" Rhapsody or symphony.?

I think it is perfomed by either savage garden or the eurythmics.

Any help would be appreciated!

What is the name of the song called "something" Rhapsody or symphony.?
bohemian rhapsody by queen??

AWESOME SONG
Reply:Bittersweet symphony by The Verve

or

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
Reply:The Mancunian band The Verve did Bittersweet Symphony on their album 'Urban Hymns'. The video had Richard Ashcroft mainly dressed in black, walking down the street and people bouncing off him as he didn't get out the way. He also walked over the bonnet of a car.

Savage Garden categorically did not sing this song. That would be a crime against music.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' was by Queen.

'Unfinished Sympathy' is track 6 I believe, off the album 'Blue Lines' by Massive Attack, who are from Bristol.

Savage Garden NEVER EVER sang 'Bittersweet Symphony'.

It was THE VERVE.
Reply:Bohemian Rhapsody? That's by Queen... Or Bittersweet symphony by The Verve?
Reply:bittersweet symphony
Reply:Savage Garden: Bittersweet Symphony

Massive Attack: Unfinished Sympathy

Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody

Gerswhin: Rhapsode In Blue

Hybrid: Finished Symphony

Dvorak: New World Symphony

Eurythmics: Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves.

Who is the artist of this work? What is the style called?
This is a detail from the central panel of a Hieronymous Bosch painting called "The Garden of Earthly Delights".

The style of his painting is sometimes referred to as "proto-surrealism" as he made heavy usage of iconography and symbolism in his works.
Reply:Michael Connelly (author of mysteries) has a character called Harry Bosch based on the painter.
Reply:It is an excerpt"The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymous Bosch. He was a dutch painter from the 1500s. Most of his pictures were religious and tryptichs. (tri-folded paintings on wood, usually of a religious nature)

Lyrics for savage gardens ,to the moon and back?

To The Moon and Back -- Savage Garden

She's taking her time making up

the reasons

To justify all the hurt inside

Guess she knows from the smile

and the look in their eyes

Everyone's got a theory about the

bitter one

They're saying, "Mamma never loved

her much"

And, "Daddy never keeps in touch

That's why she shies away from

human affection"

But somewhere in a private place

She packs her bags for outer space

And now she's waiting for the right

kind of pilot to come

And she'll say to him

She's saying

I would fly to the moon %26amp; back if

you'll be...

If you'll be my baby

Got a ticket for a world where we

belong

So would you be my baby?

She can't remember a time when she

felt needed

If love was red then she was colour

blind

All her friends they've been tried for

treason

And crimes that were never defined

She's saying, "Love is like a barren

place,

And reaching out for human faith is

Is like a journey I just don't have a

map for"

So baby's gonna take a dive and

Push the shift to overdrive

Send a signal that she's hanging

All her hopes on the stars

What a pleasant dream

Just saying

I would fly to the moon %26amp; back if

you'll be...

If you'll be my baby

Got a ticket for a world where we

belong

So would you be my baby?

(hold on... hold on...)

Mamma never loved her much

And Daddy never keeps in touch

That's why she shies away from

human affection

But somewhere in a private place

She packs her bags for outer space

And now she's waiting for the right

kind of pilot to come

And she'll say to him

Just saying

I would fly to the moon %26amp; back if

you'll be...

If you'll be my baby

Got a ticket for a world where we

belong

So would you be my baby?

I would fly to the moon %26amp; back if

you'll be...

If you'll be my baby

Got a ticket for a world where we

belong

So would you be my baby?

I need a good playlist for running?

I get my first mp3 player tomrw and I go out on my first run the day after. I've never ran before and I really want some motivating music, fast and pumped. I like Nickelback and Pink and Melissa Etheridge and Savage Garden and alot of others but no rap please. Thank you so much.

I need a good playlist for running?
I don't know if your getting an ipod or not, but if you go to iTunes you can go to Nike+iPod and they offer playlists (that are made for the Nike/ipod compatable shoes, blah, blah, blah) and you can pick and choose some ideas from there. Some are the ones that iTunes provides for you, depending on your workout, and then there are others that fellow runners have made.

Me personally, music that keeps me pumped while I'm running...The White Stripes (Icky Thump, Fell in love with a girl), Postal Service, Snow Patrol, KT Tunestall...Good Luck
Reply:you need really high paced music with a good beat to keep you running fast...try some spice girls.

and also there is a french artist called Yelle, she has a song called Je Veux Te Voir that is great for running. also one called Jogging that is good for just that!

je veux te voir is on itunes. check elsewhere for the other ones. she is on myspace.
