Anyone know of any great slow, soft songs?

My tastes are Devics, some tori amos, Elysian Fields, Frou Frou, Bjork........please no boys to men, savage garden...anything along those lines. Ive run out of what i consider different, somewhat intelligent music. Looking for other peoples taste, to broaden mine. Thank you.

I know I'll sound ancient, but you DID say 'intelligent,' and 'to broaden,' so here goes...

^^^consider Googling one of those sites that lists ALL music artists, often alphabetically, and just go on a hunt. Not necessarily randomly, though the only thing that'll hurt is a little time invested. Then pick and choose those dozens of bands and names you've always heard OF, but not actually heard. It has worked beautifully--I've muscled my music library just by exploration. And believe me, I AM picky and deliberate.

As for my personal faves, Sade has lots of great slow stuff, I've always thought The Cardigans were better than their popularity 'rating,' Jamiroquai has some truly killer slower stuff, and Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" is a great one to slowdance w/ your significant one. I'd love to go on for about a month, but I won't. Thanks.

Hope this has helped.

Reply:Not a specific song but have you listened to Ani Difranco? Sounds like you might like her based on the others you listed.
Reply:You're a Tori fan? Awesome! I love Tori Amos. Anyway, try the band Nightwish. They are a metal band, but symphonic metal meaning opera-style vocals and a lot of orchestration. Their ballads are amazing. Check out "Walking in the Air", "Sleeping Sun", and "Creek Mary's Blood"
