First dance song for my wedding??? HELP!?

I'm not picky, but for some reason he's being picky. He HATES country. No savage garden or rod stewart or anything like that. He wants it to be not such a typical song to choose, but he won't pick anything!! Any suggestions? We mostly listen to punk and rock stuff (alkaline trio, rise against, etc). But the one song I suggested by rise against -swing life away, he of course, hates. He's driving me mad! Our wedding is on saturday!

First dance song for my wedding??? HELP!?
If you really want to know the truth about your situation ~

the wedding's a few days away- sounds like you're the driver and he's more like the "going along for the ride" passenger? Laid back and going along with it isn't exactly the same as being enthusiastically involved and wanting this day to be just as special and romantic as can be....Sounds like his heart's not exactly where it should be when two people are about to be married.....I hate to be the one to break it to you but- I know weddings, marriage, romance and when two people are both really equally excited and equally involved with their "big day" it shows.....They're in sync- on the same page-already acting like the harmonious couple that belongs together.....You and your husband to be obviously aren't that kind of match- My advice is call the whole thing off if he can't pick at least a short list of very sweet, romantic songs that say' I love you and that your happiness and life together means everything to me'. Trust me- this situation of your's is NOT a good sign and it says more about your relationship than you realize.... he's driving you mad....he's not feeling the love and romance enough to be involved with your first dance song....he's being picky....All of this says you're dragging him down the aisle- his whole heart's not in it....he's not even trying to make you happy....so little disregard for your feelings- Where's the love y'all??? I don't wanna rain on your parade but your relationship isn't exactly in a state that's gonna make for a great marriage....I see an inability to find common ground , to be accomodating, a lack of romance, a man just going along with things and not because they're heart's really in it....You're leading a horse to water- and on this day that should be when you're both on your BEST, most loving, romantic behavior...you can't make him drink.

You'll be together until one or both gets tired of being unfulfilled- get's tired of just going along with whatever, gets tired of the fact that there's no real heartfelt romance etc. and it'll be over....that's why the divorce rate is what it is. Sounds like you might want to be married more than he does? And I always say "what's the point if it isn't real"? He's not your true love- if he were, your happiness would matter more, he wouldn't be so picky, wouldn't be driving you mad....In fact, he would already have a few very meaningful, very romantic songs for you both to chooose from- and the search wouldn't end til you both felt you had the perfect song for your first dance as husband and wife.
Reply:"ENDLESS LOVE" BY Diana ross and luther vandross or lionel richie. thats perfect!
Reply:Here are some suggestions...

All Of My Love - Led Zeppelin

Everlong (Acoustic) - Foo Fighters

Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton

Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band

What A Wonderful World - Joey Ramone (for the punk minded)
Reply:We danced to 311's cover of The Cure's "Love Song". Nice mellow song, great lyrics!
Reply:Metallica - Nothing Else Matters.

I have no desire to ever get married, but I know that if I ever did, this would be the first dance song. I would know that the girl would be the one if she not only agreed, but was excited about the choice.

As much of corporate sell outs as Metallica is now, this song is from an era when they were still rocking it for music's sake.
Reply:Maybe you should reconsider the marriage if he is showing his real personality, being too picky and stuff.
Reply:How about "love me love me love me say that you love me, hold me hold me say that you need me I can't see anything but you!" Sung by I have no clue sorry!
Reply:we danced to Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers...

and that song above me that the person can't remember the name "love me, love me..." is Lovefool by the Cardigans

but we shoulda danced to Somebody by Depeche Mode :)
Reply:Wow - he is being picky - it is important but he needs to realize this is your first dance - it has to be slow, classic and memorable.

OK - how about Sea of Love by the Honeydrippers...it is so nice and is a classy song. You can't really rock out on your first dance.
Reply:As musch as you may love current music as a first dance song - the classics are always a good choice. You want to look back on this for 20, 30, 40 years and this song will be imporatnt to you.

Suggestions:

My Girl - The Temptations

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

It Had to be You - Frank Sinatra's version
Reply:This site has a lot of songs for the first dance.... http://wedalert.com/songs/firstdance/ind...
